Emily Howe, Staff Writer
Hi, my name is Emily Howe and I am a senior at Triton High School. I am currently an assistant manager at Market Basket, which made me realize how much of a social butterfly I can be, yet I can take things serious and manage situations that need to be dealt with a quick mindset.
In school, I am apart of the high school chorus, which I have done for all 4 years of my high school career.
Outside of school, I like photography, and just being social and enjoying whatever is left of the nice weather before winter comes. Journalism to me has made me realize I like to have my own topic ideas, and being in control of what I write about. This class has taught me already in such a small period of time about time management, and being able to fully understand the criteria it takes to be a journalist. It makes me really consider and think about becoming a journalist one day.
Writing for my high school newspaper is definitely something I’ve always wanted to do since I was a freshman. Reading the articles that the juniors and seniors ahead of me were writing peaked my interest about what really goes on inside of my school. Thinking about how I can truly bring out the facts and inform my fellow classmates about events happening, or breaking news in the district.
After high school I want to involve myself in the business field, and definitely take on a management position. Working as an assistant manager at Market Basket has taught me and made me realize that I like to have the responsibility and trust to get the jobs that need to be done, done. I like being the one in control of what’s going on in the store and how it’s run.
As a writer of the Triton Voice, I am excited to begin exploring different topics that may be harder than others, but I am willing to put in the work and inform other students about what is going on within the school, and community.
