Joshua Rolfe , Journalist
My name is Joshua Rolfe and I am a senior at Triton High School. I played soccer at the school for 5 years, recently ending the reign as my team completed our final season together. I also enjoy swimming, camping, and skiing. All things for different times of year.
I am currently employed as a cook at Anna Jaques Hospital. Going on 3 years, it has been one of the best experiences for me. Learning to cook, which is yet another “hobby” I like doing very much. Along with building connections with people and being in charge. My boss finds a lot of hope in me that I am responsible enough to close the kitchen and be in charge of all the other kids my age we have working there.
Taking this journalism class has definitely been a good decision for me. I found that I strive to write BIG news stories that are interesting and relevant to the area. I try not to take the easy route out when choosing ideas and I find it pays off with the grades I receive.
Although it is not the career path I wish to follow, it most definitely helps me with communication skills and being able to talk to others, especially those of higher authority. In the real world, I am shooting towards a business major, or business executive. I want to be in charge of my own employees and business. Therefore, I feel to be successful you must be able to communicate with a variety of people and this class will, in a way, help me in the business world.
However, I am not just a serious person who is primarily focused on their future. That time starts after high school and college. Some “off-beat” things about me include jammin’ to rap music, and adventuring places that are abandoned. I find that old buildings and things inside of them to be very interesting, and finding out about its past is even more exciting.
