Or maybe you are simply looking for a fun way to earn community service hours while getting into the Halloween spirit. If so, then the student councils and Best Buddies have the perfect event for you, Triton’s Haunted Halls!
Trunk or Treat
Trunk or Treat is a perfect event if you have little kids who don’t like getting scared at all and just want to get some candy and toys. The night begins in the school parking lot where students, teachers, and staff members ,decorate their car trunks with creative Halloween decorations and creative themes.
Kids from aroumd the district and community are invited to walk from trunk to trunk collecting candy, different treats, and showing off their best costumes. It’s a safe and festive way to enjoy trick or treating while bringing together students, staff, and families. Everyone is encouraged to participate by decorating their vehicles, donating candy, or helping set up, plus it’s a great way for students to earn community service hours while having fun. It is also highly encouraged to dress up in your best and most fun costume.
Triton alumni remember these traditions at Triton. Mr. Sean Godbout, guidance counselor and former student, shared his memories about the school’s long-lasting Halloween tradition.
Asked if Triton had its haunted halls when he went to school here? Godbout said, “They had Triton is Haunted. They would decorate the classrooms kind of like a haunted house.”
Tritons Haunted Halls
From 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. tomorrow, guests can head inside Triton High to experience Triton’s Haunted Halls or head outside to check out the trails. a creepy and scary walkthrough of transformed classrooms and hallways, the space will be filled with eerie decorations, creepy music, and plenty of jump scares hidden around every corner.
Or if you’re feeling extra spooky, head outside for Triton’s Haunted Trails, which are located in the back of the school, hidden in the woods, where you’ll be guided through the dark and spooky pathways.
However, not everyone might enjoy getting scared, so you can pick up a glow stick at the front of the school if you want. This glow stick will prevent you from getting scared or jumped at. Just make sure you hold it up, so no one can get you.
When asked about her favorite part of the Haunted Halls, event organizer and student council advisor Mrs. Stacey Beaulieu shared what makes the event so special for her.
“I think just seeing like little kids …be brave and being like, I want to go through it. And you’re like, seriously?” said Beaulieu. “It’s really dark and scary. So I think seeing like the little, little kids – elementary-age kids – that want to go through it – . I think that’s my favorite part, which is how brave little kids can be. Students are also looking forward to this event and excited to participate in any way possible, so when the Triton Voice asked senior Autumn Lavalley what their favorite part of the Haunted House was, they were more than excited to share.
” Oh, I like the decorations,” said Lavalley. “It was very cool. I didn’t know where I was in the building ever because it looked really weird and different.
