Triton’s mystery slime in the middle school gymnasium

Triton’s school committee motioned to have a company do an assessment on what needs to be fixed throughout the school.

The assistant superintendent in charge of finance, Michelle Cresta requested that we get $100,000 for this assessment. The school committee hope the full 100,000 will not be used because the firms that would be doing the assessment would be bidding on it and they estimated it to be between $70,000- $80,000. The excess money from this loan will be rolled back to the E.N.D. the committee also wants to use $25,000 dollars for better door access security, which will make the school a much safer environment. The school committees will have up to 45 days to say no to the passing of this grant, but in the better for the school in the long term, they don’t think anyone will see it negatively.

When students throughout the school hear about Tritons deterioration they say it’s time for a renovation, ceiling tiles falling out of the ceiling, leaks everywhere, mold on the gym walls, and the board members of the school agree that a renovation of Triton is well overdue.

When asked if they thought Triton needed renovations, Triton junior Brandon Baletsa says,

“ of course I do if senior year I come back and the school is in healthy shape I would be amazed. When you walk into the gym locker room you can’t count more than 5 ceiling tiles that are in good shape, every rainy day no matter how light there’s always a leak and it just needs to be fixed.”

But many peoples opinions vary, Triton junior Harry Weston states,

“ I’m not trying to have power drills and big machinery going off when I’m trying to learn, I only have one more year here, so why can’t it wait another year?”

the school and its committee is in this renovation for the long run and the betterment of Triton. The cost should be worth it if it increases comfortability and safety of the students that attend it.

Brady Lindholm speaks on his issues with the costs,

“I think the costs are a little steep for renovations if you ask me, there are things that need to be fixed at Triton but some of the stuff that will be fixed is not really for the betterment of Triton.”
