Over Fifteen Years of Excellence

What is TTS Players?

For over fifteen years, Mike Fay’s That’s The Spirit (TTS) Players has consistently put out high-quality productions for theater students in Massachusetts.

Ever since his junior year at Triton High School, Fay has been organizing his own programs and clubs. However, it was until he was forty-four, when he joined a play, that he decided to start his own theater company.

Since then, TTS Players was born. Now, it is in its 16th season and puts on around five theater productions at the Community Arts Center in Byfield a year.

TTS Players is a branch of Fay’s company, That’s The Spirit, which also has multiple sports programs, a group for New England Tenors, and Cape Ann Idol. Fay also runs the Triton High School Alumni Facebook page, which provides information about alumni events. He hopes that his programs inspire other Triton alumni to get involved.

“I’m trying to set an example to my fellow alumni,” says Fay. He hopes that they will get more involved in their community.

TTS Players has not only had an impact on Fay’s life but also on the many student actors that have been involved.

“It’s given me a positive outlet to spend time with my friends and to be creative,” said Sydney Kelleher, who has been involved in the program since 2014. She will play the role of Morticia in TTS Players’ upcoming production of The Addams Family by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. Alongside her is Ian Prime, who has also been acting with TTS Players for years.

“It’s a big part of my life; I’ve been doing this since I was a little kid,” said Prime, “it’s important to me.” Prime will be playing the role of Morticia’s husband, Gomez.
