Norah Lyons
Hi, my name is Norah Lyons; I am currently a Junior at Triton Regional High school. Outside of school, I am a cheerleader. I did competitive gymnastics for eleven years; however, freshmen year, I decided to switch to cheer, and I am thrilled I did. Much Like most people my age, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, boyfriend, and family in my free time. I like journalism because it allows students to voice their interests and opinions. I don’t see myself going into journalism as a career; however, I am excited to experience firsthand what being a journalist is like. Journalism is also an exciting experience because my sister, Shannon, is studying to be a professional journalist/writer, so it will be interesting to see what she does. I think giving students a platform to share their ideas is extremely important. I believe that journalism is a great thing for small communities; it allows people to learn about locals and understand issues going on around them. I am incredibly passionate about art and photography/video. Ever since I was little, I wanted to do something in film or social media; as I have grown up, I still would love to do that. Yet, I am much more open to doing other things. So I am unsure of what exactly I want to do; however, I hope to do something that will allow me to use those skills. My high school experience has not been ideal. Freshman year, I left school and was hospitalized due to a health condition; right as I was scheduled to return to school, the Corona Virus shut down the world. Despite the masks, I am excited to have a regular high school experience in the future and see what goes on around the school and report it!
