Mandalorian Review

Mandalorian+Review

The Mandalorian is the newest tv series taking the internet by storm. The series debuted on the new streaming application Disney+ on November 12, 2019.

The series is a spin off from the famous movie franchise ‘Star Wars’ and it follows a Mandalorian bounty-hunter, similar to Jango and Boba Fett, who comes across a unique bounty. ‘Mando’(the Mandalorian) is now stuck with the decision on what to do with the bounty

The show is set five years after the Return of the Jedi, the sixth movie in the Stars Wars franchise. It’s right after the fall of the Galactic Empire, the antagonist of the first Star Wars trilogy, and right before the coming of the First Order, the antagonists in the most recent trilogy, just to put it into perspective for the Star Wars fanatics who might have been a little confused on when the show was set.

The action begins right off the bat in the first episode, when ‘Mando’ is sent out for a bounty. The bounty is unique because it was given to Mando by the remaining members of the imperial empire(the political party that ruled the galaxy before the events of this series take place) and pay-cut was significantly higher than the average bounty. Mando had no knowledge about the person he was going to bring back to the surviving imperials because it is against the code of bounty hunters to ask, he was just told to bring it back alive. He took the job and what he ended up discovering was the bounty was much more important than he expected.

The Mandalorian has been the biggest and most hyped up family-friendly TV series ever since Disney announced the series with their new streaming service, Disney+. The show does a great job sticking with this image. It still has the Star Wars action that old-school fans fell in love with but still keeps the show kid friendly and appropriate.

At some points it feels like the writers added in scenes in which the Mandalorian just walks for a significant amount of time. But these are extraordinary views of the Star Wars universe and they help tied the Star Wars films into the show.

Our judgement on this show is not one of a completely average person who just wants to start watching a new show. We have been watching Star Wars for years and absolutely love it, so it’s hard to really be hard on the show because it captures so many elements from the movies I watched growing up as a kid. With this being said, we would honestly recommend this show to any viewer. The show does a phenomenal job to always force the viewer to wonder what will happen next at all times. The show has certainly lived up to the hype it first received and for the first few episodes I would give it an 8/10.
