As the little brother of Billy Denbrough, Georgie wants to play whenever he can even when his brother is sick. When Billy makes Georgie a paper boat to play in the rain with, he warns him to be careful.Georgie = gets ready in his bright yellow raincoat and rainboots. As he chases his wax covered boat down the stream of flowing water it falls down a sewer drain. Suddenly, a hand reaches towards Georgie – showing him his boat. The hand was that of Pennywise the clown. After a very creepy conversation between the clown and Georgie, the clown drags Georgie down into the depths of the sewer.

The movie “It” is a horror film starring Bill Skarsgård, Finn Wolfhard and Jaeden Lieberher about a psycho clown who haunts the children of Derry, ME. The movie is based off of a novel from Stephen King release in 1986.

The movie brings an emotional aspect into view in the first scene where a boy is caught by Pennywise, the clown who plays the role of antagonist in the movie. His sickly brother does what he can after the fact to find out what happened to his brother.

The perfect balance of jumpscares and eerie scenes combine to make a genuinely scary movie. There are a very limited amount of jumpscares compared to other horror movies. Although they are still there, it is good to go to if you do not like the sudden pop ups of most horror movies.

The movie does a great job at showing the friendship of the group and how they are loyal to each other such as when they need to enter a house where they believe the clown lives. The boys encounter a girl named Beverly Marsh who everyone has a crush on during the film at some point and this situation creates somewhat of a conflict between the group.

The clown has special abilities where it can turn into the children’s biggest fears. The children at some point realize what is going on and realize they need to put a stop to it.

Comparing the the original “It” movie, the new film has much better special effects, as most would assume, which leads to a more immersive viewing experience. The clown in the new version is put together a lot better because of the makeup job, the actor, Bill Skarsgård had done each time he filmed. He had a fake and much larger forehead along with advanced makeup techniques. When the clown attacks they add effects like flashing lights as well as Pennywise’s mouth opening drastically when he eats his victims. All of this adds to the movie and keeps viewers on their seats.

Consisting of lots of action, plot depth, horror and the perfect amount of humor, “It” has 4 out of 5 stars on IMDb making it a great movie that is recommended by critics everywhere.
