March 23rd was a very hard and shocking day for many students and staff at Triton. The school was surrounded by many emergency vehicles, as a beloved teacher was taken away in handcuffs.
Doctor Adam P Lothrop was found creating a chemical weapon in the small closet space between his classroom and Mr. Tom Horsley’s. The weapon was not developed but it was in progress, just weeks away from being complete.
“I just can’t believe I never even noticed,” said Horsley, who was the most shocked by the discovery, “I just can’t believe he’d do something to this extent.” Many students were also shocked, saying they could smell what seemed like sulfur.
“It’s not every day that you have to arrest a teacher for creating a chemical weapon.” Said school resource officer, Officer Baker. Baker was the one who detained Lothrop after the discovery of the weapon. Principal Patrick Kelley was very fearful, especially because he had no idea.
“You know, I really try to get to know all of my teachers,” said Kelley, “So when something like this happens it’s just–It’s just shocking, you know?” Lothrop is a very well known teacher around Triton, he is a favorite to many.
While the current situation may be hard, it is for the best. In this time all that really matters is the safety and well being of the school. Lothrop is being held in a max-security prison in an unknown location. Triton is finally able to rest after the panic. Updates on Lothrop’s situation are still to come.
