This year the Triton Marching Band is competing in at least four different competitions for the fall season, but many people to not know much about them. Every year the Triton Band chooses a show and memorizes up to four different songs to marches to during halftime at football games and various competitions. Here is a little more inside information on this musical activity.

Just like any sport or activity, the band practices a lot, sometimes for than nine hours a week! These practices include hours of learning drill and music from memory and putting the show altogether.

But practices don’t just start at the beginning of the school year. The band started practicing and learning the show in the middle of August, all the way until finals at the end of October.

The Triton Band strives to reach a five star season. This means getting five stars in every category they are evaluated in at a competition. Every member of the band is always working together, that means no one sits on the bench; we all have to give 110 percent for everything we do.

So come see us at our next show Saturday, October 14th at Melrose High school at Four O’clock, or at any Friday night home football game!
