Waffles v.s. pancakes

A debate about breakfast choices

Waffles+v.s.+pancakes

This Monday September 25th, juniors Jennifer Calkins, and Bella Kreticos went head to head to battle weather waffles or pancakes are better.

Calkins said she strongly believes that waffles are better in every way, and Kreticos she said she thinks that pancakes are much better. They both had some pretty convincing reasons for each of their sides, which made for the perfect debate.

“If you think about it,” Calkins argues, “pancakes are more messy because when you put stuff on it, like syrup, it just pours off the sides. But waffles have pockets to hold everything.” Jennifer also argued that they’re more crispy, which creates more of an interesting texture, and also that when you put syrup on them, they don’t get soggy like pancakes do.

Kreticos had some great arguments to back up her side of the debate too. Kreticos states, “To make pancakes, you don’t need to buy a special maker, like a waffle iron, so it’s easier to make pancakes with things you already have.” Kreticos also did research, and found out that waffles are higher in fat and sugar, and also argued that you can spread things more easily on pancakes than you can on waffles.

So which do you think is better, waffles or pancakes?
