On September 22nd around 10 o’clock Young Thug and DJ Carnage’s new EP dropped. This EP is a “brief enthused follow-up to BEAUTIFUL THUGGER GIRLS” (young thug’s last album) according to Apple Music. As of now it only consists of 4 songs, “Homie featuring Meek Mill,” “Liger,” “10,000 Slimes”, and” Don’t Call Me featuring Shakka.” This album was definitely worth the wait!
Young Martha contains a little bit of something for every hip hop fan. This new EP features some of Young Thug’s well known unconventional vocal style, mixed with DJ Carnage’s beats and remixes which are well known at music festivals he performs at. These two unique styles together make for a great EP.
We feel that these two artists work well together and are new favorite of ours. Young Martha was said to be one of the most “anticipated releases of this new batch” according to -hotnewhiphop.com, and we couldn’t agree more as we’ve been waiting for the album to drop.
This new collab has been prolonged and delayed by the artists but that just gave them more time to perfect the album’s sound. Although it’s only 4 songs they’re all definitely favored by us.
The song “10,000 slimes” is similar to “Feel it” from his previous album BEAUTIFUL THUGGER GIRLS. The beat in both of these songs has the same rhythm, pace, and have a similar chorus. Personally we like “Feel it” more because of the beat drops and the background singer who adds more spark to the song.
“Don’t call me” featuring Shakka is an upbeat, fast paced song and is unlike other songs Young Thug has produced. This summer vibe-type song incorporates some of DJ Carnage’s well known beats and remixes with Young Thug’s new sound.
We are personally big fans of this new style and feel that he should write more songs similar to it. It involved more singing than actual rap somewhat like “Young Dumb and Broke” by Khalid.
Although it’s not a lengthy album some of the songs are definitely favored by us including our favorite song “Don’t call me” so check out this new EP if you’re a hip hop fan!
