The seniors are in jeopardy of losing homecoming privileges as soon as the week before homecoming. Senior Halloween Day will be the deciding factor for their homecoming activities. So, as the time of homecoming creeps up, the seniors are looking to each other and their officers for some guidance.

Last year the seniors were told that due to poor attitude they were not going to be given the privilege of participating in their senior year homecoming skit as well as not be able to decorate their bleachers.

To those of the senior class who do not know, the theme this year is Aladdin. Last year, the Class of 2019, juniors then, participated in the skit as the cast of Scooby Doo. While on stage there was an incident that involved shotgunning a Mountain Dew. The 2019 class was advised not to do so, yet proceeded to do their act. Following the Homecoming activities in the gym, the class of 2019 was reprimanded for leaving the gym before helping clean up. The class was called to the auditorium that Spring before school got out. They were told that if their attitude and respect did not change, then their privileges and homecoming would be in jeopardy.

So, the question is, where do they stand now? Seniors feel as though they are being misunderstood, and some said they believe that they are being faulted as a whole for the actions of a few. “I think we deserve our homecoming skit,” said Senior Officer Bella Lesinski, “We have made mistakes in the past, but we’re on the come up. As a class we are looking to improve ourselves, our school, and our community.”

The person who has more intel on the class’s standings is Mrs. Stacey Beaulieu. She says that our class has messed up in the past and that our Junior Senior breakfast was good, but could have gone better. She explained that the fate of our homecoming is in the hands of our class’s ability to follow the rules of the Halloween dress up day. She will be holding a meeting with Student Council on November 4th to discuss the final plannings of Homecoming. It will be at that meeting that the Seniors will know if we have earned our homecoming back. However, all of our actions have consequences and say the class acts out during the week before the in-gym activities, they could lose their privileges then too.

Given that, the senior class has a decision to make. They can change their attitude to save their senior year activities, or continue as is and miss out on memorable activities that last a lifetime.
