At the end of the 2018 school year Triton High School will be losing our school nurse Mary Goldsmith who has been working in our district for for 10 years. For Four years she was a nurse at newbury Elementary and then came to Triton Six years ago in 2012, all together Mary Goldsmith has 27 years of nursing experience under her belt! The Triton Voice sat down in an interview with Goldsmith to find out some of her favorite memories, what she will miss the most, her plans for the future, and what her favorite thing was about being at Triton?

What is your favorite memory?

“There are so many of them, but I do think that you really help a kid and connect with them in some way and make a change in their life, that’s the most rewarding thing to me. Also when someone tries on a prom gown and falls in love with it that just makes me feel great.”

What will you miss the most about triton?

I’ll miss the people and I’ll miss the kids definitely.”

What is your favorite thing about being at Triton?

“I love the kids, i am here because of the kids. I love this age group i have worked around them for so many years. When I came to the high school  after working at the elementary school it just felt like home, I’m meant to work with teenagers. I love their energy and passion, and of course the drama.

What will you be doing after you leave Triton?

“I have a new grandson so I’ll be seeing him. I’ll be able to do a lot of things that I’ve been wanting to do for awhile, I love to sew, read, hike, do yoga, paint, i’m going to be doing so many fun things. Oh ya and hanging out with my husband and spending time in Florida!”

“I wish you well in your retirement and I hope you enjoy all the things you will do in the future” – Mrs. Kenyon

“Wishing you lots of good times with friends and family, it’s not going to be the same here without you! I might just stop going to the bathroom after you leave because if your not there to chat with it’s just not worth walking over there.” – Mrs. Fein

“I hope you find a lunch buddy who is as much fun as your lunch buddy here at Triton” – Mrs. Wright

I hope you have fun with your husband and enjoy hanging out with your grandson. You’ve done so much over the years for everyone! For me personally you have helped so much thank you!” – Olivia valley
