College Life

During this time of the year seniors receive responses from colleges informing them where they’ll spend the next four years of their life. This can also be a stressful time for juniors as well, knowing their time will come as well to enter the confusing college world.

College can be a very exciting experience for many since it’s a completely new environment where students can finally major in a subject that they find interesting and want to learn or a subject that they exceed in or a completely new subject that they want to learn.  Students also get to meet new people and have new experiences.  However, college can also be a time of great stress since classes can be very hard and adapting to a new way of life is never easy.

“I look forward to being able to study hard and earn my degree so that I can be successful in the workforce and lead a comfortable life,” explained Triton junior Tirth Patel.

This can be apply to many students since many are just looking to make it through college and get their degree.  They know that once they graduate they can have time to enjoy life’s pleasures, but until then they must work hard and put in their time to be able to succeed and get a good job. However, others have taken a different approach to what they look forward to most during college.

“I am probably the most excited and hopeful about the parties since in a college setting they will be completely different and way better, with more room and freedom compared to high school,” said junior Jeremy Duford.

Some students prefer this approach more since they believe like they can still keep up with their classes but manage to have a little fun during those four years since they know a lot of college will be very hard and fun can ease the pain.

Students at Triton also have some doubts and concerns as well.

“My biggest fear is falling behind in my classes and not being able to keep up.”  Said Patel.

College courses are notorious for being very difficult and designed to push kids to the limit.

Another big fear amongst students is living conditions since dorms can be crowded and expensive.

“The thing I am most worried about is the difficulty of my studies and space live in the dorms since they can be crowded and difficult to live in.”  Said Dufford.

A current college student who agrees with Dufford is Nei Hilken who is currently studying in Istanbul.

“My least favorite part is not being with my mom and the dorms suck due to living space and not having the same proper comfort of a home,”  dtated Hilken.

Many new college students dislike the new living conditions since they don’t have the same touch as living at home and can be very busy.

However, all is not horrible at college.

“The environment and professors everything is way more chill and set back compared to high school,”  said Hilken.

Many students like the new environment and teachers since they have more room to move around away from family, then high school since students are treated more as adults and less like children.

College can be an exciting time for new students with many new opportunities and people to meet.  But, it can also be difficult due to high demand and sometimes difficult living conditions.  In the end college is as good as you make it.
