Cold Weather call for Comfy Clothes

The cold winter season limits your outfit choices for school days, which discourages students to dress in casual clothing. Instead most students wear sweatpants and sweatshirts to be more comfy and warm. The comfy clothes era starts in December when the cold weather arrives, mostly participated by the juniors and seniors. The Triton Voice captured three different sources from the junior class telling their opinion on why most students wear comfy clothes.
“When it’s cold out layers help a lot and being comfy just makes it easier” said Gabrielle Lowry. “School is stressful enough so wearing comfy clothes eases the day” said Lowry. Justina Donoghue defines the style of comfy clothes. “The extremely cold weather makes me want to be comfy all the time so I mostly wear sweatshirts and leggings with fuzzy socks” said Donoghue. Bella Kreticos explains the struggle of cold winter days. “In the morning I’m just too cold to put an outfit together and I just want to be warm and comfortable. We’re in school for seven hours and I want to be comfortable. I want to feel at home” said Kreticos.
Most of the sources associate the fact that sitting in classrooms and doing work for a large majority of the day is stressful and sometimes uncomfortable. As well as procrastinating to pick out an outfit for the day, students rather just throw on sweats and leave during a cold morning. So students then express themselves by wearing comfy clothes of their liking and remaining content throughout the day.
