The Triton community is head over heels for all the good bagels around town. The two most talked about places for bagels are Abe’s and Best Bagels. The contest is getting heated and we the Triton Voice went around to find which bagel place was healthier for you.

Abe’s is widely known for the best bagels in Newburyport. Abe’s first opened in 1988 and has since remained the best, according to its customers. On the inside of abe’s you can dine, order food to go, or eat outside. A trip to Abe’s for breakfast, lunch or afternoon snack will not only cure your hunger but keep you coming back for more.

Colleen McCarthy is a regular at Abe’s. “I go to Abe’s at least once a week to get an Asiago bagel with cream cheese”, said McCarthy. “It is my all time favorite bagel place because it’s affordable, and is a comfortable place to sit down and have a bite to eat”, said McCarthy.  There’s always a line out the door, no matter the day for their delicious food.

Ever heard of Best Bagels? Well it’s located in Georgetown and it’s a few people’s favorites here at Triton. The name may not be well known but this hidden place may be just as good as Abe’s. Their menu contains bagels, omelettes, and sandwiches. You may have to stop in and check it out!

The Triton Voice interviewed Lynn Wideberg and asked what she thought about this hidden place. “Their bagels are one of the best I’ve ever had”, said Wideberg. “They have the best french toast bagels, even better than Abe’s”, said Wideburg.

Both bagel places are very popular to our Triton community, and they both make excellent bagels! So stop by either of these places and see what the rave is all about!
