Alien is a movie made by Ridley Scott and he crafted a very good movie that you really don’t have to enjoy scary movies to enjoy to watch. This movie is the classic supernatural thriller. It creates suspense so well that even people who aren’t fans of the genre enjoy it.

The movie takes place on a spaceship in the middle of space far away from its target destination. The crew had been in stasis for most of the journey but was then woken up because of an anomaly on the surface of a planet they were passing. They go to check it out and end up bringing an alien on board.

This movie does what it wants to do very well. It creates suspense without being forced it weaves into the story very well. The movie does it in a way similar to Jaws. This is done though by using music and camera angles that show fear but not actually show the monster. But when the monster you understand the fear in the characters.

For when this movie came out the visual effects are still ok looking. There is some things on the ship that may look silly to movie watchers nowadays but back when this movie came out in 1979 they are fine looking. Even now the actual alien itself isn’t much to complain about. It is a well made creature and it holds up fairly well compared to nowadays handmade creatures.

The movie is a classic really for the reason of it does what it wants to do and does it well it also was one of the first to really do that. So I give this movie 4.5/5 stars.
