The experiences that caused them all

In the world and at Triton High, most people have experienced, some kind of dramatic or scarring memory that causes them to have a fear (Phobia).

When it comes to a few Triton students who were asked, “What is your worst fear and why?” They all answered based off different experiences in their lifetimes.

Sophomore Liam Murrey said, “ I don’t like snakes. One time I was on a run and I almost stepped on one and it really scared me. I don’t like scary movies either, like the movie “Lights Out” that was a really scary movie.”

Catherine Quigley had a different experience that caused hers. She spoke of “ Ghost and paranormal activity.” She spoke of how she’s the only one that lives upstairs. She also said the little creaking and scary noises frighten her.

Kasaundra Ann-Gentile on the other had went into a more deeper fear. She said her fear was “being abandoned or drowning alive. Being abandoned you’re left all alone and nobody’s there. Drowning you’re left alone and helpless, you can’t breathe, and the pressure, it hurts.”

When it comes to the adults and authorities in our life at Triton they too have fears. They may also share the same fear as students, just different experience that has caused this fear.

Brendan Stokes said his fear was snakes too. “I definitely don’t like snakes. I think it’s something that started as a little kid. I was never around them. The fact that some of them are poisonous is a concern.” Donald Dow from the library said his was, “ climate change. (it) is very very scary. Ice capsules collapsing, sea levels rising, species going extinct. You can’t dump pollution into the air and think nothing going to happen.”

These are only a few fears at Triton High that were shared.
