Class of 2018 starts to think about their lives next year without Triton

Next year, the class of 2018 will be official alums of Triton High School and will have to face many changes in their lives.

As this emotional journey begins for the seniors, many different feelings and opinions are being developed.

For senior, Marisa Soffron, her first year out of Triton will be more sad than happy. She is unsure of what she is doing yet after this year but knows she will be saying goodbye to a lot of people who are close to her.

“I will probably be staying around here next year while all my friends are going off to college. I get upset thinking about how I won’t be able to see my best friends for months at a time. Really not sure what I will do without them,” said Soffron.

On the other hand, senior William Parsons is eager to start his college lifestyle. Parsons top pick for college is the University of New Hampshire.

“I won’t miss the school at all, and will only miss some of my friends here but they can come visit me because I’m looking at schools only in the New England area.” Parsons added that he is “beyond” ready for college and is excited to “meet new people and play college basketball.”

Senior Sarah Norton, also plans on going to college next year and is going to major in nursing. Norton feels bitter-sweet about being away from home next year.

“I am excited to start fresh and experience new things, but it’s definitely going to be different. I am going to miss my mom the most and coming home everyday to her and the rest of my family, that’s going to be  hard to deal with.”

Whether it be going to college, traveling or working, the seniors will finally be taking on a new journey of their own after four years of the same seven-day schedule and daily routines at Triton.
