Do You Like the Fall?

Fall is a wonderful time of year. Leaves changing color and falling, warm apple pies and pumpkin carving. What’s not to like?

A few people from the school were selected to tell and show us how they feel about the fall time, their opinions on the season and what the best part is, “scary movies,”.

Lizzie Caldwell

Senior, Caldwell states how she likes the color scheme in the fall time. She likes the leaves and the outfits but, “I don’t like the weather because it’s too cold. Not looking forward to winter,” she said.

Outdoors when it is cold isn’t really Caldwell’s favorite thing, she says, “When the weather is cold, I like to stay inside with blankets and scary movies.”

But when it comes time for family and friends, she doesn’t mind some outdoor activities. “My favorite fall activities are going to the Topsfield Fair, apple picking, and pumpkin carving,” she said.

She still enjoys trick or treating. “Salem is the best.” But although she likes the season she likes warmer weather. “I like it going from cold to hot outside” she said.

Fall time isn’t for everyone but is certainly a season Caldwell enjoys.

Mrs. Sara Scruton

English teacher, Scruton has views on fall time as well. “I am a fan of anything pumpkin flavored, but only in the fall,” she said. Comfy clothes and getting out of summer is good news to Scruton.

Outdoors is where Scruton has some fun during the fall. “Football is one of my favorite things about fall,” she says, “I spend most of fall at soccer and football games.”

Scruton specifically looks out for a certain area during the fall. “I stay away from the Topsfield Fair because it has resulted in our acquiring a rabbit and a pig.” She fears if she takes her family again she’ll end up with a larger animal so she settles for the Deerfield Fair, which she says is fun.

Scruton definitely looks forward to the coming of summer and not winter because of the warmth. Sadly, “my whole family likes the cold, so I think I am stuck in New England for life.” She hates the cold but doesn’t mind it because, “the change into the colder weather is beautiful around here,” she said.
