The Triton Voice’s, Devyn, Sophie C. and Sophie S. captured what our upcoming winter sports seasons look like in a short and sweet Viking Voices podcast.

Guests on the podcast include members of the track team, hockey team, and girl’s basketball team. The athletes were brought in to give Triton students a closer look into what’s happening behind the scenes. Listen to find out.

My name is Devyn Alantzas, and I am a Junior at Triton High School. Outside of school, I am immensely busy. During the fall I am a competitive cheerleader for Triton, and year-round I am a competitive dancer at Elevate Dance Center in Rowley. I am one of four children in my family, as well as my two French bulldogs, Harlie and Winni. As well as being a student and an athlete, I also work part-time as a retail associate. I’ve always had a secret talent for writing. Mostly I enjoy writing poems, but anything will suit my fancy. If I had a choice I would choose writing over reading every single time. This year I hope to make progress in my creativity and write about things that are maybe out of my comfort zone. Being a journalist for my school's newspaper aids me with a handful of new experiences and challenges. It gives me an idea of what it would be like to work as an actual journalist outside of high school and gives me skills that I could apply to almost everything in my life. Journalism connects everyone and brings us all together. If I could spend the rest of my life anywhere, it would be sitting out on the dock in the sun on Lake Winnipesaukee. It’s my favorite place. I also want to travel, and in a dream world I would buy a van and transform it into a home on wheels and go anywhere my heart desired. I hope, as I near college, that I can major in psychology. Hi! My name is Sophie Chapman. I am currently a senior at Triton High School. Over my 4 years here at Triton, I've spent my time doing many different things. In the fall you can find me playing field hockey with some of my best friends. I have played field hockey for 7 years now and have been on varsity since freshman year. I am the captain of both the field hockey team as well as the tennis team, which I play on in the spring! Outside of school other than field hockey and tennis, I have been a Class President for all 4 years, which I enjoy doing a lot, I have been part of student council, community service, and a few other Triton clubs. Outside of Triton, I enjoy spending time with my friends, my family, and my dog. I currently am a dental assistant at a pediatric dentist's office where I work helping kids with dental needs during the summer. I love journalism because you can interact with people, and always talk about the newest trends, drama, and other big topics. I enjoy hearing people’s different points of view on topics and I especially enjoy picking what we write about ourselves. My general goal for our school newspaper is to flood the paper with new interesting topics that everyone is interested in! I think social skills are extremely important for people and I believe that journalism contributes to that skill. Having to interview people is a very important skill that we all will use in life. In my future, I want to become a Dental Hygienist. I have always been interested in teeth and love my current job working with kids and can’t wait to see where the future brings me!
