Seniors Stick Together

On Wednesday, October 19th, Triton and Georgetown cross country teams held a co-op meet. Located at Georgetown’s Penn Brook Elementary School, the last Triton duel meet of the season took place. Because of the unfortunate low numbers on Georgetown’s team, both the girls and boys teams lined up at the same time.

Right off the line, Georgetown’s Mason Behl took a strong lead which he kept finishing first overall with a time of 17:47. Triton’s top runners took to the race at an easier pace knowing it would be an easy victory. Seniors Griffin White, Sam Mollineaux, Cole Jacobsen, Parker Burns, and Bryan Nichols crossed the finish line together with a time of 18:45. For the girls involved in the race Georgetown’s Abby Porto finished first with a time of 21:18. Triton’s Erin Wallwork and Robin Sanger took second together with a time of 23:23.

If necessary the Triton boys and girls could have put up much faster times as seen in previous meets this year. This being the last duel meet for the senior boys and senior girls, they wanted to finish together. Both Triton teams emerged victorious, boys with a score of 20-43 and girls with a score of 1-2.
