Shea McLaughlin

Shea McLaughlin, Staff Writer

Hi! My name is Shea McLaughlin. I’m a senior at Triton Regional High School in Byfield Massachusetts.

During the school year I participate in sports year round. I run cross country, winter track, and spring track. I also work at the Rusty Can, a restaurant in Byfield as well.

I enjoy journalism because I can write about things I want to write about. If I see something that interests me, then I can spend my time writing a story about it so others can be interested as well.

I think writing for and having a school newspaper is important because students should be aware of not only things going on in the world, but what other students and teachers think about those things. It can be a way for people to connect, but it could also be a way for people to push apart, but that’s what’s so great about it. Not being afraid to tell the truth.

After high school, I plan to go to college. I’m currently undecided on a major and a college, but I’m getting closer to figuring it out every day. I have a passion for sciences, I’ve always loved forensics and anatomy. Maybe I’ll be a doctor, or maybe I’ll be a detective.

You can reach me at [email protected]
