Peighton Hertigan, Staff Writer & Copy Editor
Hi! My name is Peighton Hertigan. I’m a junior at Triton High School.
When I’m not in school, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and playing sports. I play both field hockey and lacrosse, but I prefer field hockey. My favorite part about it is the fact that I get to play with all of my best friends. I love spending time with my friends, which includes going to the beach, shopping, or even just having sleepovers every weekend.
I have two siblings, an older brother, who attends UNH, and a younger sister, who is a freshman at Triton. I’ve really enjoyed taking journalism because it’s more like a mini job instead of a class I’m being forced to take. I enjoy having the freedom of writing what I care about, and sharing my ideas and thoughts with the entirety of Triton.
My favorite part of this class has been being able to venture off, and interview all different students, staff, and local people, to get a variety of different views into the paper. I believe that the newspaper brings the Triton community together, and is a very beneficial way of sharing our individual ideas, that create the school we’re all apart of. It’s a very safe, and nonjudgemental place to share our thoughts on different topics, which educates other students at the same time.
I honestly don’t know what I want to major in yet, or work in as a career later on in life, but I know I want to attend a 4 year college after high school. My dream is to attend Penn State with my best friend. I hope to find a way to work with animals, because I’ve always loved them, and had hopes of being a veterinarian when I was younger.
