My name is Devyn Alantzas, and I am a Junior at Triton High School.

Outside of school, I am immensely busy. During the fall I am a competitive cheerleader for Triton, and year-round I am a competitive dancer at Elevate Dance Center in Rowley. I am one of four children in my family, as well as my two French bulldogs, Harlie and Winni. As well as being a student and an athlete, I also work part-time as a retail associate.

I’ve always had a secret talent for writing. Mostly I enjoy writing poems, but anything will suit my fancy. If I had a choice I would choose writing over reading every single time. This year I hope to make progress in my creativity and write about things that are maybe out of my comfort zone.

Being a journalist for my school’s newspaper aids me with a handful of new experiences and challenges. It gives me an idea of what it would be like to work as an actual journalist outside of high school and gives me skills that I could apply to almost everything in my life. Journalism connects everyone and brings us all together. 

If I could spend the rest of my life anywhere, it would be sitting out on the dock in the sun on Lake Winnipesaukee. It’s my favorite place. I also want to travel, and in a dream world I would buy a van and transform it into a home on wheels and go anywhere my heart desired.

I hope, as I near college, that I can major in psychology. The thought of helping others and doing something I truly am interested in and have a passion for would be my life goal.
