Hi! My name is Ava Johnson, and I’m a junior at Triton High School. 

Outside of school, I love playing sports. I play field hockey, basketball, and softball. Field hockey is my favorite because I get to be with my best friends all the time. Other than playing sports, hanging out with my friends and family is my favorite passing time. I have 3 siblings and a 4-year-old nephew who is so fun to hang out with.

The thing I like most about journalism is that I have the freedom to write about things I care about and value most. I also like being able to talk to different people and get their thoughts and opinions on certain subjects. I hope to make my articles strong enough to get a lot of them in the paper each week. Being a journalist for the school paper is important because being able to write about things you care about and enlighten others is something schools need to bring each other together. Journalism and the media are important because everyone can relate to the same things and become closer to one another!

I’m not exactly sure what I want to do in my future after high school, but I know that I like helping people and I’ve looked into being a forensic psychologist a little bit. I know I want to go to Penn State, but I just don’t really know what exactly I want to do!
