The War on Climate Change

Luke Groder, Staff Writer

What is climate change? The dictionary.com definition for climate change is a long-term change in the earth’s climate, especially a change due to an increase in the average atmospheric temperature.

Scientists say that the earth could warm 6 degrees in this century. This may not sound like a big deal, however only two degrees can make our oceans rise and wipe out a number of species, ruining the circle of life according to wired.co.uk.

Climate change is caused by excessive greenhouse gases in the atmosphere from things such as car emissions and deforestation.

To slow this warming down, we must stop polluting the earth. However, in recent months, President Donald Trump has removed the United States from the Paris Agreement, an international climate change organization. Many people believe in climate change while others call it a myth. Personally I believe in it and want to help the environment as much as we possibly can and save it from harm. The question is, what will the United States do?
