“Peak Week”

Triton Vikings Field Hockey

The Triton Vikings field hockey team has been a huge success so far in this 2017 season. The girls have an incredible record of 6-0. However, this week is going to be a challenge for the players.

Monday the vikings are playing Manchester-Essex, Wednesday they will be up against Masco, and Friday they take on Newburyport. All three of these teams are very talented and have always been a tough match for the Vikings, but the girls are determined to take them down and keep their winning streak. The team came up with the name “Peak Week” for this week, with their mind set on beating these challenging teams.

The coach, Ms Donna Anderson, has faith in this team for this week and is so proud of how they are all doing, she said. The girls get along well and never complain at practices. They do what the coach says without a problem. In an interview, she mentioned some players that have really stood out to her this season, though it was very hard to choose because everyone is doing so well this year.

-Senior Julia Cordeau has been the big scorer so far this year with 13 goals.

-Senior, Donna Ross is the leader of defense, coach Anderson calls her “the quarterback of defense”.

-Junior, Carisa Boyle has improved immensely since the last season, scoring her more playing time.

-And Sophomore, Jamie Bell has been pulled up from JV for a while now and plays a huge roll in midfield.

It’ll be interesting to see how these girls take on “Peak Week” and see the results of the games.
