Dispatches from Italy: Colosseum
In Rome, the Colosseum is a place where they would have deathly fights by gladiators, who were Christian slaves versus an animal until the death of one. This happened so often it became a social event for the people of Rome at the time. In comparison to today, it’s just like going to a sporting event.
