Athlete of the Week: Julia Cordeau

Owen Heffernan, Staff Writer

This is the first entry of an occasional series in which I will profile different Triton athletes in our school. The first athlete is Julia Cordeau, who in 6 games has already scored 13 goals! A perfect candidate for the first running of Athlete of the Week.

Julia Cordeau

Sport: Field Hockey

Position: Center forward

Record: 6-0

Goals Scored: 13

TV: When did you start playing field hockey?

JC: I started playing field hockey in 8th grade.

TV: Why did you start playing
field hockey?

JC: It looked like a lot of fun and there weren’t many options for sports to play in the fall. I previously played soccer and I wanted to try something new.

TV: What is your outlook on this season?

JC: I think so far we’ve done really well, we haven’t let up a goal and our record is 6-0. I hope we go far in the tournament.

TV: What is your favorite memory of your sport/team so far?

JC: My favorite memories are the times during preseason when we all get Tripoli [pizza] and just hang out, even if we don’t have practice. It’s wicked fun.

TV: What is your favorite thing about your coach?

JC: I love how Mrs. A is just as competitive as we are, which just makes the game a lot more fun.

TV: What is your worst sport?

JC: It would probably have to be gymnastics.-

TV: What are your plans for after high school?

JC: I don’t plan on playing field hockey in college. I want to go into marketing and maybe get into the business school at UMass.

Look for Julia and the team to get back at it on Friday at 3:45 on their home turf.
