Youtube Shooting

On April 3rd, a woman by the name of Nasim Aghdam stormed into the Youtube  headquarters and opened fire reigniting the gun control issue in the U.S.

This event was one of the more minor ones compared to recent shootings due to the fact that the only casualty was the shooter herself.  However, this event also brought in mainstream media since it occurred at the Youtube headquarters bringing many additional questions to the table such as security and what caused an individual to act this way.

Another interesting spin on this case was the fact that the shooter was a female were as in most recent occurences the shooter had been a male.  But like other cases in the past this individual had shown great hatred and threats that went unaddressed similar to the Parkland shooting raising the question of how easy it is for someone to obtain a weapon even if they are deranged.

This again invokes the question of instead of banning should we perform more mental health checks and more background checks.  In Switzerland there is every gun for every .5 persons and the most common crime is committed through stabbings out of 232 cases only 47 were firearm related according to Wikipedia.  This really brings the tough question of is the issue the people or amount of guns? Which I believe the issue is the people and in order to fix this issue we must increase mental health and vetting to stop this epidemic.
