Fortnite vs PubG
April 27, 2018
The new video games, Fortnite and PubG, have become a sensation. Here at Triton, many students play on their Iphones and Androids or, on their Xboxes and Playstations. The Triton voice got coverage on students opinions on what game they prefer and what console
they’d rather play on.
“Fortnite has brought back the fun of playing video games with your friends.” said senior Owen Heffernan
“I play fortnite on my phone because the controls are simple” said senior Chris Brennan.
“I won’t play PubG because it can be wicked laggy” says senior Evan Mcparland.
“Fortnite is easy to play on the phone because everyone is pretty bad and it’s easy for me” said Andrew Maiuri.
“Playing PubG on a console seems more realistic and a better stand point on life considering i’ve played Fortnite with my friends. Don’t get me wrong playing Fortnite with my friends is fun but I prefer PubG,” said Rik Brown.
Fortnite is released for Iphone and Ipad users and soon expected to come out for the Android in a “few months”. The player must check the device for the new IOS 10 update, or the app won’t be able to run. PubG on the other hand is both available for IOS and Android users.
In Fortnite the player uses a technique of building, from the materials you have collected or destroyed. During the game to survive a player needs a weapon. Weapons can range from explosives to a gun, or just simply your pickaxe in the beginning (which is what you start with).
Aimee Azevedo said she would make the game better by having “better graphics,” while Andrew Maiuri said it would be better with a “better connection.”
The controls are different on the console and phone. The player must use a controller when the player is using an Xbox One or Playstation. The phone is at the players fingertips. The movement is based off of a little joystick.
PubG was released on the phone a couple months before Fortnite. PubG is considered a “more realistic” stand point for a game. There is no building walls or ramps with wood, brick, or metal. Also there are more realistic items you can get, such as a car, motorcycle, or truck. But, the players objective is still the same in both games, to be the last team or person standing.
These two games have become wildly popular within months whether played on the console or Iphone. Is it a trend that will die down like other popular games such as angry birds, and flappy bird or are these games here to last? Only time will tell.
