Yeti is an Austin, Texas based manufacturer for outdoor lifestyle products such as water bottles, coolers, and other accessories. Yeti is sold in Life is Good, Olympia Sports, Walmart, and many other stores around Byfield. Many students own the Rambler Tumbler and carry it around Triton. These go for $29.99 plus tax on the Yeti website. But, are they really worth the $30 just for a water bottle?

The Triton Voice, went around and interviewed students carrying Yeti water bottles to get their opinion on their performance, and durability.

Colleen McCarthy owns a silver Rambler Tumbler , “This was definitely worth the money I spent. I haven’t gotten any dents in mine, and I’ve had it for three months now.” McCarthy said, “ I use mine for both hot and cold products.”

The Yeti site offers ten different types of drinkware that come in a variety of colors. The prices range from $19.99 to $129.99. The cheapest option is the Rambler lowball 10 oz and the most expensive is the Rambler one gallon jug.  

Amy Clark owns the teal version of the product. Clark says, “This was definitely worth the price. It holds my drinks the right temperature for many hours, and is also really easy to clean”. Since Yeti is sold at places such as; Dicks Sporting Goods, some of the prices are cheaper than the website. “I spent $27.99 on mine at Dicks, plus I didn’t have to pay for shipping and handling”, says Clark.

In 2006, Yeti coolers were created for the outdoors by Roy and Ryan Seiders. These were meant to be a durable product that was guaranteed to last you, unlike the plastic ones you find in cheap retail stores. The two brothers were sick of getting a new cooler after every adventure they had, so they created the Yeti cooler.

Caitie Rooney owns the pink version. “My whole family owns Yeti products, from coolers, to mugs, to clothing”, says Rooney. “Although their products are on the expensive side, they really do keep my water cold, even when I’m out on my boat during hot summer days”, says Rooney.

Yeti sells other  products such as hard coolers, soft coolers, chairs, bags, buckets, accessories, and clothing. They promote durable products that are meant to last for awhile. Their reviews rave about how excellent these products are.

Gracie Burnim also owns the popular product in a green color. “ I will never go back to any of my water bottles again”, says Burnim. “I have owned my cup for awhile now and there aren’t any scratches or marks. My tea is always kept hot for hours which is great for school.”

The bottle is measured to be 9 ½” times 3” on the outside, and contains an empty weight of 16.3 oz. The design prevents condensation, to keep users hands dry. The cap is leak proof, and insulated to protect spills.

Mackenna Faucher owns a black one that she uses when she goes hiking. “This product is great for when I’m out hiking because my water stays ice cold for hours”, says Faucher. “The bottle fit perfectly in my bag and is easily accessible”, says Faucher.

The product is made with kitchen grade stainless steel, so they’re puncture and rust resistant. The double wall vacuum insulation is what keeps the beverage either hot or cold. A great benefit is the product is dishwasher safe.

Kayla Collins runs for the track team here at Triton High School, and also owns the Yeti Rambler bottle. “Even when I come back from long runs my drink is very cold. This product is definitely worth the price.”

More students are beginning to purchase this new trend. With long lasting drinks who wouldn’t want this? Whether you need to keep your water ice cold, or your coffee hot this is a great investment.
