If you like anything from seafood to burgers or even pizza, the newly opened Sea Level is the perfect place to go get a bite to eat when you’re out in downtown Newburyport.
Sea Level Oyster Bar just opened this summer, taking the place of Not Your Average Joe’s restaurant which closed after the summer of 2016. Sea Level has been quite the hit for many so far and Triton students share their favorite meals.
“I always love to get the Baja Taco. It’s definitely been my favorite meal to get there,” said senior Julia Cordeau. “I haven’t tried anything new since the first time I tried them because they are so good. They are also pretty big so I always have leftovers the next day, too.”
The Baja Taco includes a lightly fried cod, fresh lettuce, pepper jack, cotija cheese, avocado salsa, and drizzle of cilantro lime creme fraiche, all served inside of a soft shell.
Another meal that was loved by a first timer was the grilled shrimp meal. “The shrimp were huge and really good,” said senior Maggie Riccio. “I wasn’t sure what to get here because it was my first time going here, but I’m really glad I got the shrimp and mashed potatoes. I would definitely come back and get the shrimp again.”
The grilled shrimp includes a choice of sauce that includes tomato bruschetta, pineapple salsa, or lemon chive butter. Then you have a choice of two sides that include fresh greens, steamed vegetables, their homemade Old Bay smashed potatoes, coconut rice, or original mashed potatoes.
Sea Level has an extensive tasty menu ranging from dishes that include seafood to tacos. So far it has been a crowd pleaser and a very successful addition to downtown Newburyport. Most likely it will be enjoyed for years to come for a night out on the town with family or friends.
