Two friend groups have been competing against each other on the basketball court. The Beever Dam and The Shack are two groups that made teams and have played against each other at Salisbury Elementary School’s basketball court two times.

“Originally it was just a couple kids that go to Latitude,” said Beever Dam member, Connor Beevers. “We just started a group chat to see who was going what days,” he said and someone jokingly said “Dam vs. Shack” and that is how it started.

Both times they have played against each other they played three games up to 21 and whoever won two out of the three games is the winner. “You usually play to 21 if you’re playing street basketball, one game to 21 is just too short so we just decided best 2 out of 3,” said Beevers.

The Shack has won both times, “because we’re all basketball players, we’re all ballers,” said Shack member, Franklin Cohen.

Beever Dam member, John D’Eufemia said that in both tournaments they have won one of the games, they just haven’t got the “double dub.”

Despite their losses the Beever Dam is not giving up. “I have faith in my team and I think we could win,” said D’Eufemia.

“I think we’ll win, last time I definitely think we could have won,” said Beevers.

The Shack doesn’t see themselves ever being defeated. “They’ll never beat us,” said Cohen.

The teams fluctuate members depending on who is available that day to play. Both teams said they are sure they will play against each other again soon.
