Lucas Tinkham stalked his prey (aka Jackson McHale), as he crept up to his car with his water gun in his hand. Lucas stands up with a large smirk on his face, while opening the car door, squirting Jackson in the arm for the first kill of the game.
It started when Lucas texted Jackson McHale, tricking him into thinking that he had his twin sister, Grace McHale. After informing Jackson about his “fake” target, Lucas then snuck into position. Hiding behind Jacksons car waiting for Grace to come out, Lucas stayed strapped. Jackson continued to walk out of his house into his car with leisure. After getting in his car, Tinkham jumped into action, pulling open his car door, and executing the elimination of Jackson in his front seat.
“The moment I was eliminated I thought my car door was locked as I was waiting to drive my sister to school. Then my door was opened and I was shot and out of the game. I was completely surprised and had no words after realizing I was out. Being the first one out really stung for the first day but after that it’s now really funny to joke about.”
Senior Assassin is a common game among seniors in high school. The game consists of participants signing up, getting a randomized target, and then trying to eliminate their target using a water gun. The overall goal of this entertaining game is to be the last one standing. Usually, there is a set period, rules and regulations, and different techniques that vary between the different schools. The game usually involves the whole school cheering on their friends and it is a fun way for seniors to create memories before walking across the stage and leaving high school behind.
This year a new rule was proposed that differed from last year; wearing floaties and goggles on your body would result in you being “safe” from elimination. So, Not only were Triton kids looking for water guns but they were also looking for floaties and goggles. The game started on April 1st. At 12:00 am when most Triton kids were sleeping some seniors lay awake waiting to get sent out there target. Senior Lucas Tinkham woke up at 6am, to find out his target and execute his first target just seven hours into the game.
After the first elimination from Tinkham, he then got out his second target after he inherited Jackson’s later that day. The game has been going on for just under a week and there have already been 41 eliminations out of 80, leaving only 39 people left and a lot more eliminations to go.
From then on, people started dropping like flies. Ashley Sabino has been a sneaky but yet effective assassin thus far, eliminating two people already. First, she stalked Cole Sanders’ location and followed his car to Dunkins. Once Cole walked out of Dunks, she hopped out of the car and not only sprayed Cole but a homeless man as well. A few days later she caught Josh Hersey leaving the gym, and then punched on the opportunity. Now with two kills she looks to get her third.
“I plan to do what I have always been doing and just wait for them to come outside.” she said, when asked how she’ll approach her next target.
Mason Colby has risen to the top of the leader board as he stands in first place for most kills, with four of them. These eliminations consisted of Sam Imlach at the gym, Bradyn Lopes at a convenience store, Corbin Allen in his driveway, and Brian Clark in his driveway as well.
Connor Rumph, recently obtained his first elimination. He texted Joe Niska asking if he wants to go to the gym together. Once Joe was walking into the gym, Connor ran up behind him and sprayed water all over him. To which Niska replied. “I hate you.”
On the other side of the spectrum, the game has not been so nice. Students like Alex Pasquini were tricked and betrayed by the people he used to call his friends. His strategy was simple. “My strategy was to not go outside and don’t get out.” he said. Which clearly didn’t work out so well. He was walking to his friend’s car to go home, but when he opened the door, Josh Hersey was sitting there waiting for him. Ultimately, the game lost one of the greats that night.
A kill lasting four hours took place recently, involving the elimination of Ashley Jones. Luke Sullivan, pulled up to her work (Anna Jaques) and parked behind her car boxing her in. Ashley saw this and decided to get a ride home from her coworker instead. Which led to a low speed chase, all around town. Luke then went back to Anna Jaques and tied a fridge to Ashley’s car, knowing she would have to come back for her car eventually. He then waited for her to come, and with the assist of Lucas Tinkham ripping off her floating, Luke shot her.
“It was one of the most embarrassing things to happen to me. Losing like that was embarrassing enough, but allowing a cripple to kill me made it even worse.” she said.
With the game still going on, many friendships are at stake.
