After a very shocking meeting this past weekend, school officials have announced a complete ban on any spray on tan usage at the junior/senior prom dance on May 9th. This conversation was sparked by conducting a research study on some of the effects of fake tanning done by one of Triton’s very own alumni, Dr. Ashton Fuller. The main concern was a semi-moderately contagious biohazard called Axenyl-Formate which was quoted to be “Not deadly, but contains negative effects on skin texture, as well as causing severe hair loss.”
Triton Prom attendees reacted very differently to the news. with some in support of the ban, and others not so much.
“I think it’s for the best,” said anonymous senior ‘B’, “Last year, someone’s spray tan rubbed off on the white tablecloths and it looked like a crime scene.”
“I’m devastated,” said anonymous senior ‘GP’, “How am I supposed to get that sun-kissed glow without actually going outside?”
While students scramble to find alternative tanning solutions Dr. Fuller suggests standing next to a lamp for 7-8 hours per day. Prom committee faculty wanted to ensure everyone was aware that anyone with a spray tan will not be allowed on the buses to the dance.
