Bruins decided to fire their head coach, Jim Montgomery on Tuesday, November 19th. The Bruins are off to a rough start to their season with many embarrassing losses and a record of 8-9-3 decided to make some changes to try and get their season back on track starting with firing their head coach, Montgomery. Montgomery has been the head coach for the Bruins for three years and has performed really well throughout the seasons he had with the Bruins, leading the Bruins to a record-breaking most regular season in the NHL history in his first year coaching for the Bruins. Montgomery also had an astonishing record of 120-41-23 with the Bruins, so fans are wondering if this is the wrong decision to fire Montgomery. The Bruins had high expectations this season, but in reality, have not performed to their potential, the Bruins are currently tied for the second-worst goal differential (minus -21) in the league to start their season. Stepping in for Montgomery will be Joe Sacco who for now is named the interim head coach. Sacco, an assistant coach who has been on the Bruins bench for the last decade, has been given the opportunity to steer the B’s season in the right direction.
