It is another cold December: the Christmas spirit is spread around, but he has returned once again, this time with the intention of turning their holiday into a nightmare. Art the Clown who is played by David Howard Thornton, is a demon creature who seems to comes back on different holidays to torture people, And this time he has come back once again to avenge himself. However, Terrifier Three, the most recent in the horrifying Terrifier franchise series, released on October 11,has people having conflicted thoughts about Art the clown.
Damien Leone, a famous producer, film director, and screenwriter has made and created Art’s character over the years since 2008 when he was first introduced. Leone started with the first movie The 9th Circle, to the first Terrifier, then leading to the newest movie Terrifier 3. Art has been on a massacre of killing people for years since the first Terrifier where he preyed on two innocent girls Tara Heyes [Jenna Kanell] and Dawn [Catherine Corcoran] on Halloween night. Art had left Tara’s sister Victoria Heyes [Samantha Scaffidi] mentally unstable and facially disfigured after the first movie. During the second movie Sienna Shaw [Lauren Lavera] and her brother Jonathan Shaw [Elliott Fullam] were Art’s next victims both surviving his killing spree. The producers didn’t give much context as to why Art chose to go after them until the 3rd movie came out October 11th 2024 where a lot of Terrifier fans’ questions were answered and some conspiracy theories were mostly solved.
The Triton Voice decided to review the newest Terrifier 3, picking the most interesting part of the movie to talk about.
The gore- Terrifier 3 has some pretty intense gore that most people definitely weren’t expecting, nor was anyone prepared for. There were times during the movie that this reporter attended where people were running out of the theaters to vomit, but most fans who have been watching this trilogy are used to the gore and psycho like scenes in the movie. Still, this one was a lot to handle. The movie has been getting a lot of criticism due to the fact that within the first five minutes, Arthas already started his killing spree off with a child, this has been something I myself thought this was kinda messed up for Art to go and do that to a kid. I mean this is the first time we fans have seen Art kill off a kid, you don’t see that in many horror movies either because it’s very controversial. If this was my movie I would never let a child get killed off. This just shouldn’t be allowed in movies as it could scare kids way more if they had seen someone watching it or a scene on the internet.
the acting- The acting in this movie was very realistic, it’s like they know how to perfectly capture their character as well as being able to turn these characters on and back off after filming. Thornton had to admit the fact he was even grossed out by some scenes causing him to throw up as soon as they finished filming. He had talked to movieweb and stated that near the end of the movie there was a disturbing scene that he just couldn’t handle, not even in real life. He also said that it was hot and smelled disturbingly gross on scene, which wasn’t helping at all. This Ended up leading to Thornton starting to throw up while filming.
theories- CBR, a website to update anyone in the latest games, movies and more, went over a theory that fans have about Art being Sienna’s dad. The reason fans are thinking this is because in the second movie when we see Sienna’s dads sketchbook he had made drawings of Art the clown and his victims. He also seemed to have drawings of Sienna in a different form than human. Watching the newest Terrifier has people thinking differently about this theory though as we see a clip of Sienna’s dad and her naming the drawing he had made. Looking online there are other articles that are against this theory and don’t think it could be possible. If her dad truly is Art, how did this happen to him? I think there is a good chance that Art could be Sienna’s dad who may be under some kind of curse, but at the same time I don’t think that would make a lot of sense as Art would know where and how Sienna got her powers.
I think this movie was a hit as well as the acting being amazing at showing the pain of losing someone so traumatically. The actors being able to show the pure fear that Art has caused them shows how traumatizing it really is to be in this kind of situation. the theories that fans have come up with could really be going somewhere and be telling us the truth. I feel Terrifier 3 definitely was a gore based movie, which doesn’t usually affect me that much but I definitely won’t watch this movie again because of how terrifying the gore was.
