Just this morning about 4 people in A period library study sat there holding vibrant colored drinks from Aroma Joes. Even though they have their health problems, the question remains, what makes them so trendy? The Triton Voice analyzed many aspects of these rushes and tried the top 3 drinks.
Aroma Joes rush drinks give kids a boost of energy to get through the day. These rush drinks were invented in April 2012 and quickly became popular. They are made with the signature AJ’s (Aroma Joes) RUSH Energy Drinks with a variety of customizable flavoring choices which are listed on their menu.
On the Aroma Joes website it talks about the company and gives background details. Founded in the year 2000, Aroma Joes is a private trading company. There are various stores spread throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. They have a Total Investment range of $586,599 – $1,859,492. Aroma Joes is a chain of coffee shops including many drink items. These items include Rush Energy Drinks, Frozen drinks (coffee, hot chocolate, lemonade), a variety of coffee types, and breakfast foods. Most people go there for their famous Rushes. A 24oz rush from Aroma Joes cost $4.65 while one size up at 32oz cost 2$ more being at $6.85.
Throughout many social media websites and around school, it was observed that among the most commonly seen Aroma Joes Rush drinks are the Green Alien, Blue Hawaiian and Red Raspberry rush. Regarding taste, the green alien flavor is said to have a refreshing, sweet and fruity taste due to the combination of green apple and blue raspberry flavoring. The Blue Hawaiian has a refreshing, tropical taste with prominent notes of pineapple and blue curacao. The Red Raspberry rush has a sweet, tart raspberry flavor with a fine balance between fruitiness and sweetness.
Although these rush drinks are very popular they contain a lot of calories. A 24 oz Green Alien has 290 calories, Blue Hawaiian contains 270 calories, and with the least out of the three, 160 calories in the Red Raspberry rush. Moving up in size to 32 oz it adds about 100 calories. According to the Better Health Channel, energy drinks have many downsides such as: high amounts of sugar and caffeine, which increases heart rate, blood pressure, anxiety, jitters, trouble sleeping, and breathing. These rush drinks may be yummy but have their downsides. But, that should not stop you from trying one of these delicious drinks!
On their menu they have 9 rush drinks, not including their not so secret, secret menu hiding many more. This includes: AJ’s Rush® Blue Pixie – Blue Curacao, Blue Raspberry, Blueberry. AJ’s Rush® Pink Star – Strawberry, Pineapple, Amaretto. AJ’s Rush® Sea Monster – Blue Raspberry, Watermelon, Lime. AJ’s Rush® Black Magic – Blue Curacao, Pineapple, and Red Raspberry. Although these drinks aren’t on the menu, most are insanely popular. What makes them so popular is their flavor variety, customization, caffeine boost, convenience, and trendy marketing.
After trying recommended rushes from family and friends, I believe my favorite is either the Blue Hawaiian or Red Raspberry Rush. They both had an original taste that reminds you of a warm summer day. I recommend trying any rush drink on the secret or regular menu but definitely try the Blue Hawaiian, Green Alien, or Red Raspberry Rush.
