Top 5 Favorite Things About The Fall Season

The fall season, from October to November, brings a lot of good things to the table that us New Englanders, get extremely excited about.

  1. The atmosphere

Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons that we have here in New England. The leaves on trees change from green or brown, to vibrant shades of red, orange, and yellow. The weather is pretty much perfect.

“I love the whole atmosphere of fall. The changing of the colors, the weather,” says senior Jill O’Neill. “It’s beautiful!”

 

  1. Intro to the holiday season

Fall marks the start to the holiday spirit. Starting with Halloween in October, to Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Valentine’s Day, there’s not one month from now to February where there’s not a holiday to celebrate.

 

  1. Sweater Weather

Three words: oversized sweaters/sweatshirts. We all love the comfort that the season brings. Being able to comfortably wear sweatshirts and sweaters is always something to be excited about!

 

  1. Hot drinks and warm foods

Hot chocolate, hot cider, warm cider donuts and apple crisp. These are all things that fall marks the beginning of. Being able to drink warm drinks and eat hot foods to keep yourself warm is a great feeling.

 

  1. Apple picking

Around here, most people get excited to finally get over to Cider Hill Farm, located in Amesbury, Massachusetts, to pick apples. There’s something about getting all bundled up and picking your favorite apples fresh from the trees and using them to make a warm desserts, or just to keep as they are and eat as a snack.
