Boselli and her Key to Teaching!

Rachel Rowe, Staff Writer

Ms. Megan Boselli goes the extra mile and has decided to pursue a career as one who educates younger people. But when she decided to take on this position for the Triton Regional School District again, after teaching in this district for eight years, she had no hesitation.

When offered to be a preschool teacher at Pine Grove Elementary School, she was more than welcome to take on the opportunity. It fit her schedule better, especially with the flexibility of the part time position. She previously was a teacher for first, second, and third grade within 10 years of her career, but never thought she would be educating an even younger level. When she took on this action, she knew she wouldn’t regret it.  “I knew I would love it because I have two young boys that are similar in age to preschoolers. I love interacting with them, learning from each other and having fun together. I knew this would be a good fit for me.”

She has come to the conclusion that she takes pleasure in this new opportunity very much although it has its pros and cons. “The pros are the students! I have the greatest group of fun loving 3-and- 4 year olds. She said. “I love seeing the world through their eyes and giving them a positive early school experience. They are little sponges, soaking up new knowledge every day.” Boselli said.

“The cons are leaving my own two children. I know working parents provide a healthy balance for families, but it isn’t always easy getting everyone ready and out the door in the morning.”

Boselli has just returned from a two-year hiatus. She is very appreciative of the community as a whole. She enjoys getting to interact with teachers from the other elementary schools which also helps her in what she does.

“Triton is a great district that respects their teachers.” she said. “I love the opportunity to collaborate with teachers from Newbury and Salisbury Elementary. We are lucky our administration encourages and provides time for this collaboration.  I have also appreciated the collaboration families take with teachers in supporting their children’s education. We are lucky to have so many devoted parents and families in this district.”

Living a life of a teacher isn’t always the easiest, but they must always have a technique to have a little fun, but also know how to cope with the difficulties that can happen at times. Boselli discusses the key for being a good preschool teacher. “Patience! I can’t think of anything I need more than patience while teaching preschool. It helps to be active, not mind singing and dancing and allowing yourself to have fun. Being organized has also helped my teaching.”

Two students at the Triton Regional High School, tried to remember their years as a preschoolers. Although she remembers some aspects,  Senior Marisa Soffron explains how it’s a blur.

“ Honestly, I don’t even remember what I had for dinner last night, let alone remember preschool. It was so long ago, I only remember liking to build blocks.” Soffron said.

On the other hand, Senior Gianna Maiuri remembers the activities she used to participate in during the school day.

“I always remember how I used to make these pink cookies with my teachers and how they always wanted us to take a nap.” Maiuri said. “At that age I miss not having to worry about a thing and not having to do a lot of work on a daily basis.”

The Triton Community has welcomed many new faculty and staff to influence people’s lives academically, and emotionally. As long as you have all the time, and patience to deal with your students, Boselli says she will enjoy a school year of teaching good manners, and good academic qualities.
