Fashionista of the Week: Julia Rennie

Although Julia Rennie is not normally interpreted as someone who creates a fashion statement, as she shared with The Triton Voice, on Monday morning she arrived at Triton High School looking nothing but sharp, and this did not go unnoticed.

Rennie is a senior who succeeds at avoiding senior slide. Sweatpants and sweatshirts are off limits for her, for she takes pride in how well she dresses. On this particular day, a rose gold top paired with bright white jeans forced everyone to take another look. Cam Willey, a senior, commented to Rennie that she “looks really good today,” and many people have agreed.

Rennie enjoyed sharing where she purchased her clothes, “This shirt is from T.J. Maxx, as well as my sandals. It’s where I purchase most of my clothes. My jeans are from American Eagle, another store I enjoy shopping at.”

Because of her courage to wear such stunning outfits, Rennie’s confidence increases, “Sometimes you just need to dress for yourself. I do not dress to impress anyone else, I am just trying to be me, and it feels good.”

The Triton Voice concluded the interview with one question: What advice do you have for those who are too shy or afraid to dress how they want? Rennie shared, “I would tell them that high school is a time where you should express yourself and find out who you really are. And if that means you have to wear something a little out of the box, who cares! Express yourself. Be who you want to be.”
