Ceramics update

A photo of the skulls the ceramics class has been working on.

At Triton we have a variety of different art classes you can be apart of. Ceramics is by far the most popular of the art classes which also includes art history, art two, and photography. This week in the ceramics one teacher, Mrs.Toni Fein has given her students three projects to start off the first semester.
The three ongoing projects are pinch pot making, tile prints, and molding a skull out of clay. The pinch pot making is a unique project where the students design a three piece bowl set which you then get to glaze with your choice of colors and then put into the bisque to be fired. The final product comes out as a one- of- a- kind bowl set.
The tile print project starts off when you receive a small tile that’s soft enough to carve your design into then it is put on a large flattened square piece of clay held by a compress to push down your tile into the clay so the outcome would be your print piece on the harden clay surface. You then get to finish off the project by painting your print in any color of your choice so your tile stands out for the final product.
The last project is based off the month of October to give off a Halloween vibe. Each student has to create a skull head by basing if off the given picture that Toni Fein presents to the class during this project. The images are of a female/ male skull head angled at a direct view of the face as well as a profile angle of the head. The students are to complete the head including all the details to the skull as well as structure. If you’re looking for a creative elective, talk to Mrs. Fein and think about joining in the years to come.
