Fashionistas of the Week: Sofia & Donna

Fashion is not only appropriate for school days or going out at night, it is also a necessity for game days. Sofia DeSimone is one of 3 captains for Triton Girls Field Hockey. As most sports do, her team participates in dressing up for game days and each game is a particular theme.

On Saturday, October 14th, 2017, The Triton Voice met with seniors Sofia DeSimone and Donna Ross to discuss and explore their fashion secrets, tips, and favorites

DeSimone shared her reasoning for why the team participates and her favorite theme.

“We do dress up days because it makes us feel united and gets us excited for the game,” shared Sofia. “My favorite dress up day is probably tourist day or USA day.”

By dressing up for game day, teams are able to express their spirit and encourage one another throughout the day.

Ross is also a captain for Triton Girls Field Hockey. The Triton Voice asked her the same questions as DeSimone .

“It gets us pumped for the game throughout the school day and unites us all as one team together,” said Ross. “I really love preppy day.”

DeSimone is known for her style throughout the school week and not just on game days. She shared her fashion favorites and tips with The Triton Voice.

“I like to shop at American Eagle and Forever 21 primarily. My go-to color in the fall is burgundy, especially on jean skirts. I really love how jean skirts and skirts in general are coming back into style. They look so great paired with boots this time of year.”

However, Ross has a different approach to fashion.

“My favorite fall trend has to be ripped jeans, a sweater, and slip on Vans. I like how Vans made a comeback in the past year because they match with almost anything and are really comfortable.”

Fashion is seen all throughout the year at Triton High School, yet, the sport teams of the school seem to constantly stand out on game days.
